wondered if any of you owned farms and also mud bogged??
i own a cow and my dad has a sheep but farming has been a big part of my life since i was a baby. my mom milked cows when she was pregnant with me and when i was born i was in my crib out in the barn while my dad was milking. ive grown up around pretty much every farm animal. my gpa has owned the farm for over 50 years and now we have around 60-70 head of cattle and 150-200 sheep. and have around 150 acres of hay and were going to out up corn this summer. but every summer i help putting up hay and tending to animals working on equipment etc etc yada yada the farm life.
i want to hear about other got mudders farms if you got one? ==wgm
forgot to add right now i work at a dairy farm just down the road from me milking 6 times a week usually lasts about 3-4 hours we milk around 170 cows
We Got Chickens & Phesant!
i want chickens cuz nuins better then farm fresh brown chickedn eggs but my mom wont lemm get any
grew up that way.. when Livingston co. was farm land..
worked a couple of local dairy farms and horse spreads, we always had and raced horses.
shame it's all planted in houses now..
Not me, no farms in troy, lol
Grew up on my Gpa's farm. Lived across the street, was there everyday. Was driving tractor when i was 5 or 6. All vegetables though, no livestock.
I dont own one but i work on one during the summer months. milking cows and cutting and raking and bailing hay. oh and cant forget picking it up off the field and putting it in the barn. I love it and plan on owning one.
live on my family farm, work 100 head of beef cattle, 40 hogs, and too many chickens lol
We have a baby duck does that count as a farm? Lol
i have two cows 5 pigs 1 horse 1 rabbit there 4-h animals been raising animals for last 10 years
i hate to say this but actually farming is one of the hardest businness nowadays to get into UNLESS you or family alredy own a farm/land.
also to be a farmer you have to be in debt especially dairy farming that is a big profit bussiness but lately it went down the poo hole
TOO many farms are being foreclosed and farming is the backbone of america

I have chickens may be getting some ducks geese and turkeys here soon.
I may also try getting rabbits for my niece to show at the fairs around here.
was thinkin about raizin up some swine but i can go buy one butchered wrapped and in my freezer cheaper 20 pound pigs went for 62 bucks apeice at the marllette stock yard straight run hogs went for 1.65 a pound im no genios but thats pretty simple math there
i personally shy away from buying live stock from marlette there have been alot of diseases runnin threw there and we have encountered aalot of sick animals from there. find a local pig farmer and work out a deak with him you can get them cheap
I have "Plow Town" on my phone and I have 8 hogs. ;D

Ive seen turkeys around chickens, but its my understanding its not a good idea, the turkeys carry diseases that the chickens cant handle very well. My information is from long ago, things might be different now with all these new medications.

get yourself a few sows and a boar and have some piglets you would provide food and still be able to make money selling the sows
I used to have chickens when I was a kid, "Rhode Island Reds"
Had some chickens in 08 at my property but Coons killed em, and then I trapped the coons....so no more chickens, but I'd like to get some more though.
