Title: 06 chevy cobalt

hey guys im pulling a motor out of this little thing and it just aint wanting to come out its a stick with a 2.2 its very compacted in there what would u say the best way to pull out the flywheel and clutch is given me troubles wont clear and i can move motor any farther away from the tranny cause im hitting the subframe so would it be good ideal to pull tranny with it i really dont wanta do that so i was wonder if there was a different way thanks u for ur suggestions

Might have to drop it out the bottom...seems like a lot of newer cars are going that way.

i think those you have to unbolt the subframe and drop everything out the bottom. It was like that on a newer focus we took apart

i think it has to go out the bottem too, and it'll probly be a pain no matter how ya do it, good luck man, i have an 09, and i wouldn't wanna attempt doing the clutch in it

I was at the dealer a few days ago, and they had several they were workin on the motors, and they had dropped the whole assembly to get at the motor..

Theywere probably automatics. Seem to be having a lot of trouble with the autos in thse cars

i have a 2007 cobalt and did the clutch at 80,000 all we did was drop it through the bottom like 1 foot to get the transmission to move enough to get to the clutch. theres not enough room to do it through the top. good luck

ok well got another question how do u get the axles shafts disconnected from tranny

well motor is pulled brought it out the top but still had to unhook subframe i hate this car so much its for the girlfreind so i hope she dont just dum my ass when all done but if she dose she wont be driven her car to far cause ill have it burn to the ground lol
