hi everyone kinda new to the site but i have a 97 expedition and i was trying to replace the shocks and the lower bolt snaped in half and i cant get it out.. the top bolt loosened up but nothing on the bottom.. anyone have any ideas to get it out... ==pissed
wat do u mean snapped?? like part of the bolt is stuck inside the bottom end of the shock?? if so take a punch and pound it thru the other side or cut the other end off
the head of it snapped off on the lower bolt the rest of it is still stuck in it and the nut on end looks like it has a plate welded on it
welll the best bet would be a grinder ad grind it off
k.. thanks for the help im gonna go and give it a try.. ==thanks
wat prolly happened was a shock broke the mount so they prolly welded on a washer to fix the mount
so how did it work out for ya??
get it out
nope that dang thing was so jammed in there i ended up taking it in and having it done..the shock bolts were stock from 97 tho so it didnt suprise me that they wouldnt come out.. the bad thing is tho the shop that did it ended up wacking my brake line with a hammer so when i got my truck back home had to tear the rear brake hardlines off and replace them but its all good now..cant wait for the dunes trip now with cbakes july 29 if we finish his blazer in time
shoot if they would have broke my brake line i woulda took it back up to them
I was going too but I figured that they did enough damage so cbakes and I just replaced it real quick now its all good to go
