wanna get a rough estimate i want to do a 6-8" lift on my 94 k1500 when i sas it this winter. i just wondered if that would be to much for lift i was going to build front x member to make around 8 inches of lift by using 4 inch tubing and buy sky mfg. rear shackle and hanger. shackle flip in rear. and prolly use 3/4 or 1 ton leaf springs for better hauling capacity and for axles dana 44 front gm 14 bolt ff rear
does ur questions never stop coming? lol well get a drop hitch u ll be fne .
bigger tires make it harder to stop.....and your gunna need more gear for the bigger tires (with lifts comes bigger tires!) most lift I towed with was a 4" lift and 35s and it sucked...
Yeah, lifted trucks don't tow so well
my friend Tim pulled his goosesneck with a 6 inch lift and 35s for a couple years. mind ya it was a 06 duramax and he had his pulling truck on the gooseneck...
I know someone who towed a landscaping trailer daily with a 02 duramax 6inch lift with 37s
by law 27" is the law in center of the frame between axles
plan is 35" tires and 410 gears my truck is setup for trailer brakes and if i do get a trailer to haul my bogger im putting trailer brakes on it sry bout all questions dunno any1 else that knows this

Small trailers and you would be fine. Something like quads, etc.
But, put something like the full size truck and I dont think you wil be happy with the set up you mentioned.
Would be hell on that transmission too.
If yer getting a bogger, why lift and sas yer dd?

x2 all the work you put in you dd is money you could spend on the bogger... all a tow rig has to do is pull you to the boggs, stick some overloads in the rear and tow away!! the lift and bigger tires with 4.10s will cook the trans fast and would be a turd pulling a trailer with bogger...

thats wat i keep telling him lol
I pull 9k with mine. Have zero issues. 6 inch lift, 35 inch tires. Tri axle trailer.

you got a newer hd truck thats made for hauling just about anything. better equipped to haul stuff, deisel, beefed trans.
if i was you, id put that cash into a bogger. i remember when i was younger, everyone told me to not beat my dd, and if ya lift it, thats what will end up happenin. i learned after being stranded a few times on the side of the road. ++peace
the amount of lift depends on how much ya wanna spend. i run 35s and tow stuff without any problems BUT ive invested the money into lower gears, and a beefed up trans and im still not done yet....
what id aim for when ya do it:
1 ton rear axle
beefed up trans
extra trans cooler if ya dont have one
better brakes(ebc pads, slotted rotors, etc) electric trailer brakes are nice but should not be relyed on as significant stopping force. theyre only there to ASSIST
make sure ya got a heavy duty receiver, long drop hitches create more strain on the receiver
make sure the motor has enough power
extra guages to monitor more components like trans temp
NO LIFT FOR TOW RIGS!!!!!
take a minute and think are you going for the badass look on your dd or are you just wanting to be obnoxious and lift it sky high (no offense sometimes this isnt a bad thing) i honestly think leveling kits are perfect, just put some sweet looking rims and a a little bit bigger tires and it can be a pretty sweet looking dd and tow rig, thats wat i plan on doing with my dodge
im thinking im leaving it stock might be looking at a cj5 here pretty soon may just lift it and dd it
I have never owned a stock truck always lift 3" and runn 35s dailly and always towed my bogger where ever i use my trucks as trucks ... know your truck know your load.
In my crew cab 1/2 ton I'm lifted 2-2 1/2" with 285/70/17's (measure similar to 33's) I just got home from pulling my travel trailer around the state.
I wouldn't want to go any bigger when I'm pulling something that big, unless I had diesel with a trans made for pulling big stuff. bigger tires bounce more too....bouncing and steering don't mix.
gotta agree with everyone here...the whole purpose of doin a sas is for more strength? ifs is fine for a dd jmo...ge a 2 in torsion key and rear block kit and some 285s i just did that to my 04 and it looks really nice and can still function just as well as stock height
i was thinking maybe a 2 inch body lift and crank torsion bars and put overloads on it
this is my truck with torsion keys and 2 in blocks....stock size tires... the kit i used is the same one u would need its only $150 and easy to install...im gunna put add a leafs and 285s and call it a wrap
I run an 8" lift with 38s or 41s and dont have any problems.
