IMO odd that it happened to two pistons. Maybe just old or most likely, a lean fuel condition combined with to much advance in timing. Too little top ring endgap combined with the lean or out of time will cause the top ring land to break off. Kinda weird to happen to an old (high mi) engine. Carb. change or timing adjust recently?
Recently bought a rebuilt 350 (should have done it myself). 3500 miles in it started missing BAD. Pulled plugs, 3 were smashed. 3 brand new hyper pistons had broken off the top ring lands due to too little ring endgap. Looked just like yours.

i cant do grabber green there are 3 idiot kids running around my town with grabber green trucks the 3  idiots have a bad rep for tearing up other peoples property and i dont want to be mistaken for one of them, lord knows i dont need the extra attention and a ticket. i wanna incorporate the block in with the paint scheme of my truck  so grabber green is a no go. love the color but do to the situation i cant do the green.
