slightly lol... i was saying the monitor works fine on my other desktop, but when i plug it into hers it dont turn on.
So there is something wrong with her computer. More than likely it's the video card.
scrap it! lol
Didn't read the other post but most the time the ribbion cable goes bad. Very hard to replace if you haven't done it a lot. Cables cheap if youcan find one.
Swap yer video card in there and see if it works

- that's usually his answer too! ==roll
Like everyone else said, video card, however i bet the video card on that HP is hard wired into the motherboard, not an actual card. If this is the case, buy a cheap card that will plug into whichever slot you have (pci, isa, etc.) and bingo, you are all set.
in less your GF spent a good chunk of change in the computer its an onboard video card, you'll have to find out if it can take a AGP or PCIx-16, if not you'll have to find a PCI card...
if you can post the model number I can find a card that will work just fine for it...

went n dug threw my parts box.. only video card i have wont work... so i know its not this kind whatever it is loll

that looks like an AGP 4x card, and being as she has a slim line that card wouldn't have worked, you'll need a half height card...
this is what you need, and it should work out just fine, then upgrade the RAM and ditch Vista...

Ill see what i can do about getting the video card

lolol yea right... I just need the tv hookup on that card cause thats what we are going to be hooking it to now.

english? lol
if you have a TV with either HDMI or DVI you can use that card I showed you, most TVs sold the last 4 years have one of the two...
you'll just need an adapter to hook up to HDMI if its not already included with the card...

I have a adapter that goes from VGA to RCA (yellow white and red) ??? that work?
if RCA is the only way you can hook it up to the TV, what kind of TV is it? maybe post a picture of the various connectors in the back or side and I can tell you how it needs to be hooked up...

the tv has hdmi and s video... but the only adapter i have without going and buying another one is VGA to RCA. (which i havent got to work since i bought it)
ah, you can get a DVI to HDMI cable cheap from Meijers or Wal-Mart, neither card comes with cables anyway...
the card you posted has VGA and S-Video, personally I think the resolution from DVI/HDMI is better, but either card will work...
