what would be the best front end to use. lightweight but can handle 400-750 hp
Dana 60....no such thing as lightweight and strong axles in mud boggin
depends on what weight the truck is we had 44 with moly shafts and open front never broke them with 600hp small block some of the baddest drag boggers run 44 s or 10 bolts with good parts
ok thanks.
thay use dana 30 and dana 27 front ends too.
9" front
Is the axle gunna be in the stock location?
no cuz im thinking of center seat style truck with everything centered

i want something light
Toyota front, light and strong, plus upgraded shafts arent to expensive.
do they make crome moly shafts for them
If u want it light make it 2wd
toyota axles suck dont use them the ring gear is very weak 450 hp will break it use a 9" ford!
how good would jeep or scout axles work

Look at erikmud's bronco2. He is pushing well over 550 hp to his toyota front. The axle he has been running has seen alot of abuse over the couple years. As long as you get the weight off of the axle you could probably make a dana 30 work.

I had toy axles in a fiberglass cj5 and hated them not sure how eriks front hold up so well
If you have all kinds of cash get a currie 9 inch front. Light and strong as hell.
i think i might do that. so its different
They sell just the parts to convert a normal one to. I like the factof how easy it would be to change the gearing if you had 9s front and rear. Someday I'll have enough money to build my center seater and that's my plan.
i want to build something like this
I would go d60/14ff.......don't care if there heavy....strength is important in axles... if u snap a shaft on an axle all that weight savings did u no good
