rebuilding a chevy 366 big block and hav some questions about gaskets and what will work with what, will 396 gaskets work for it? what's the diffrenc between a mark4, mark5, and mark6? thanks

The 366 is a tall block and is the little brother to the 427 tall block. Low rpm industrial motor, very tough but not much for performance. Came in C-60 and similar dump trucks and stuff like that. Power-to-weight ratio is not too awful good. Major gas hog!

massive torque ! very low in power band
Torque monsters for sure. Like a diesel but gas motor, more torque than HP. Time to twist some stuff. ++peace LOL
yup the kit may be cheap but the axel swap wont be... this truck started out to be a hunting rig..now look..dont want the high wraping motor, stuff breaks to easy i just want to spin em lil slower rpm but have all that torque...
besides will be a big difference than my stock 350
If you have a heavy rig that youre climbin hills or pullin stuff with, its great. If youre runnin mud its all about rpm IMO. Not tryin to convince ya to do anything, just sayin.. ;D

If you don't have the torque to get the tires spinning in the first place the RPMs won't go up.

i agree. horsepower is a number that comes from torque.

i had one i loved it but they do not like rpms at all, very high torque though 4 ring pistons. and you can find spacers to make a stock 454 intake work with the motor to run a stock 454 water pump.
not really runnin mud for say..thats a bonus !! mostly for geting me and the gear in and out the woods and do get into some hills and creek beds that i want a low rev high torque motor for climbing
