I've been approached to do a trade......my gmc 2.5 tons for a dana 60 front and a sterling rear.
My 2.5 tons are from a 1947 duece and a half and his axles are alot newer; but here's my delima, I am now building a rock rod (buggy) that will be dual purpose- rocks & mud. With the gmc axles, I know they'll take the abuse of both rock and mud and allow me go bigger in tire selection including tractors. The other axles are ford axle that I know very little about, like biggest tire size and gear available, how much abuse they'll take, cost of rebuild should they break etc.
Any help you guys can give would be greatly appreciated.
keep the big ones
