Met the Lady that over see's the mounds, last sunday. and she was asking us what we thought about inprovements too the mounds.she said they were going to finish the rock part. and then move on to other things, she was woundering if we thought everyone would like a tug pad,and if she put one in would anyone use it.she looking for ideas.and asked us if we had any we could get intouch with her on the mounds facebook page.she checks it often.so I guess what im getting at is i know theres been alot of talk about things that need to be fixed or redone at the mounds.and the way she talked now is the time to hit her up.she seemed nice..so get on face book at the mounds fb page and let her know if anyone has any ideas or if you think i tug pad would be cool....Just a heads up......Woody
definely need to host a trail clean up so we can trims some trees
Ill bring a saw out! And the 78 lol I'm game for cuttin some branches
How about some trail maintenance. I liked how it used to have the large woops at the entrance to slow people down, Now its flat as can be. Also the aera along the Power lines needed some back fill to make getting in and out easier as well.
I am not one to rain on some peoples parade and love of the big holes but, Some of then need to be filled in for people to get around a little bit easier. IMHO.
if you have face book i guess they have a page not sure if i have it maybe someone can post a link they way she talked she wants feedback and new ideas
I would give some time to work on the mounds
They are having a trail clean up. it was posted last week i think. this is from there page. so this sunday 8 am to noon. no power tools.
Calling All Volunteers! We're planning a trail maintenance day for Sunday, August 21 from 8am-noon. Bring your lopers, clippers, small hand saws (no power tools, please!) and help us cut back some of the overgrowth. We especially need people with small vehicles to help with the narrower trails. If you're interested in helping, either let the Mounds staff know or contact Nancy Edwards at nedwards@gcparks.org.
Only thing u dont agree with is no power tools. There r some big trees down that need to be cleaned up and can't do that with a hand saw.

on those big trees i would mark them and let the parks know so they can have someone come out and cut them up. they do the no power tools do to the liabilty
yeah i know why they do that if its not too big I can pull it out of the woods so its out of the way and then they can have someone come get them. I asked them about it see what they say about that.
going to try to get off work for this
if we get the car done tonight i will be out there in the morning on the quad
Did the trail clean up and it was a borderline joke. Not enough people by far. But the park needs more than simple brush clean up as Corey/CrazyMays and others have said. Need to do like a bog and have you sign your rights away maybe- to do what "we" want.
