Title: dana 60 death wobble
Post by: Blazin40s on August 21, 2011, 11:09:11 PM
Ok, so since I put in the 60, I've been driving my blazer a little bit harder.  Anyways, since I have no tow rig, I have to drive it to and from bogs.  On the way home, if I cruse at 35 I get death wobble.  If I accelerate thru 35 and cruise anywhere over that its fine.  If I hit 60+ then I have vibrations but no wobble.  Changed the bushings and springs on the king pins, and it went away, until the next bog.  Put washer between the k.p. spring and steering block and it got better till next bog.  So basicially I'm getting sick of changing springs n bushings..  anyone else have a similar problem?  And all joints are new, kingpins look good, and bearings look good too.  Wheel won't budge up or down with a 5 foot bar.  Any ideas????????

tie rod ends? maybe instead of up and down, side to side? swap the front and rear tires? steering box whomped? only so many things it could be.

Tried rotating tires......same.....if I change the springs and bushings for the king pins, it goes away till I bog it.  All ends are brand new and in great shape.....

I dunno, everything seemed to be in good condition.. the k.p. cover on the pass side looks a little thin....but would that make a difference?
