Police in West Michigan have a wedding band mystery on their hands.
Michigan State Police Sgt. John Tillman tells The Muskegon Chronicle that a woman from Muskegon County's Fruitport Township came into the Grand Haven post on Tuesday afternoon carrying a gold ring with the inscription "W.D.F to O" inside and two other worn-off letters.
Also inside the 14-karat gold band is the date "8/14/40" that may be the wedding date of the ring's owner.
The woman told Tillman that her son found it while cleaning out his black, extended-cab 1997 Ford 4X4 F-150 pickup that he purchased from a dealer in Twin Lake in 2000.
Anyone with information on the ring's owner may call Michigan State Police at 616-842-2100. Vehicle records also were being checked
that was really honest for them to actually turn the ring in
so nice to see honest people in the world :) most people would have just "cash for gold"-ed it..
