First day for them back to school and I come home from work to find my mailbox damaged to where I need to get a new one or be really creative and my neighbors is totaled. :(
Why can't kids just leave other peoples stuff alone. And a big thanks to the people whom actually taught their kids right. I know there are someout there, just not by me.

Put a tin cover over a solid steel box, so they break their wrists when they hit it with a bat
I am making one on wednesday. Not sure how elaborate I am going to go but a nice big post is going into the ground 4+ feet and I will work from that.
Loll or just do what my buddy did and make it outta 1/4 steal tubing
and you run the risk of doin like my buddy did.. and go to prison for 10yrs for negligent homicide...
just FYI.. put a pipe in the ground, or steel box and break a wrist yada yada.. is a HUGE liability on your part if someone gets hurt.

its their fault if they hit it not mine
get a plastic one and put it on a hinge with a spring on it. That was my next step if the road commission plow took my moms down again. And yes if you make it with a steel pole or something that will greatly damage a vehicle they will come after you and your home owners insurance. I dont think the pole can be any stronger than a 4x4 post if i remember correctly.

oh gotcha ya i dont know the rules but theyd be stoping pretty quick if they hit it loll
we just wrapped our box in rebar cause we had problems with people taking the top off it not the post, its stiff enough to take a hit, and yet ive never had a cop complain about it, lol saves my mail box..i personally tested it, seems baseball bat safe. lol

Misdemeanor.. destruction of property under $100 - If there is a piece of mail in it from the federal govt that gets stolen, lost, or destroyed then its a federal offense, something from the state would make it a low felony. Gotta prove it, too.
dont have a link to the law but i do know legally they have to be "brake away" in the event it gets hit by a car

Wrong! Its on your property so its your fault.. Neighbor went through this.
Well I would say if a kid hit it and hurt themselves, I would be happy to have them tell mommy or daddy so I could give them an ear full and maybe a little extra hand in learning ;)
Just rig it with c4...and wait with a detonaitor...then when they hit it...press the button.....BOOM! No more dumb kids. It won't be yer fault. Won't be murder in the 1st degree.... I mean hey they hit it right?. loll
Unfortuniatly we live in a country full of whiny sissy wimps, who can't break a nail without wanting someone else to be liable

too many...
been through it... if the mail box is not installed to U.S postal service standards they can even stop delivery. If someone hits your mail box and its not to code (U.S postal service standards) they can sue you for damages. If some one hits it and is seriously injured you will be sue and face criminal charges... acting stupid on laws never work in your favor...

HMMMMM, I WOULD DEFIANTLY GET A GOOOOOOOD LAWYER CAUSE TECHNICALLY, AINT IT ALWAYS SAID THAT THE TOWNSHIP,COUNTY OR WHO EVER OWNS X AMOUNT OF FEET FROM THE ROAD. THAT IS WHAT MY POST OFFICE TOLD ME. THEY SAID I COULD PUT A MAIL BOX ACROSS THE STREET BY THE NEIGHBORS BOX AND I ASK "IF I NEEDED TO LET THE NEIGHBORS KNOW",THEY SAID "NO, BECAUSE THEY DONT OWN THE DITCH". I'M JUST SAYIN!
A $40. camera from sams club. would work realy good. get the one that works at night to.
kids was stealing flags in the trailor park one year, they got cought.
mom and dad there saying its not our kid, then tell them to watch the tape.
proof in the pudding. ;D
if I did the p00 some kids do today I would have got my ==kma beat some people dont have time for there kids so thay let them do what thay want
Yup, let them do whatever. Just the other day I was in mid turn driving around the corner and the neighbor kid bolted right in front of my Blazer on his bike. It pissed my off; I was roughly 3 feet from his bike and if he got hit, daddy would be B****ing at me if I would have clipped him.

Too many spoiled fkin kids out there, guess my generation was the last where (spanking) was allowed, but at least it taught me to behave and repsect my parents.
