this was a favorite of mine
my dad helped me build it when I was 6 or so,
kept it at his house
they have that model at Hobby Loby in Flint. I had the replica of that when I was a kid. Also one of my fav models. Its really getting hard to find them now. Growing up places like Wal-Mart,Meijers,K-mart, They had half of an isle's worth of different styles, paints, and glue, Now you have to drive to a hobby shop just to find a few and they want like $20+ for a single model. Really sucks because I LOVE building model cars and trucks.
i used to have a bunch of different ones as a kid.... no idea where they are now though,,, been 15-20 years since i seen em
This is the model Wagon I built with my dad when I was a kid...Stillhave the rear tires and part of the motor in my closet. (wish I never tried to play with it) :(
I had a couple model cars, ships and aircraft, its too bad Meijers only has them once a year now...
i just raised one up myself with some wood and a couple computer piescs love modles.
i took a monster truck kit and smashed it with a chevell kit to make a monster car plus i put red led's into the head lights that worked. it was pretty cool. plus i took a GTO and put a serious rake with some slicks that i cut to give it a street drag radial look.
I got a few.. most of them never got finished, closest one i have to finished has screwed up paint loll maybe its a sign why i never finish anything. ==dunno
oh ya decades ago before walmart was even around lol
yup then usto take a pencel and make them look like they was putting down black marks on the dresser. ;D
I have to ton from when I was younger still at my dads house.....
same here but 20 or 30 years ago

I still have some that are unfinished. I had the "Soff Seal" '57 Chevy Drag Car. I think its still in a box somewhere.
Some of them are cool looking. But I have never been a fan of the Crazy ass Custom T-Bucket look. Love the Drag Cars and the old Hot Rod stuff over the crazy 70s looks.

x2 into them big time..
never liked the snap tites though.
love make'n them but never just got one we would buy two or three of them and make one car/truck ......and rember at fair time us demo derbys were big in my neiborhood with the older guys so us kids built models reinforsed them with any kinds of metal or hard plastic we could find and paid intre fee's(that paid for a new model for the winner) just like the big guys and had heat's and judges was kinda cool...and then the elementry school i went too once a year would have a carshow we used to look forward for that every year
i got a load of em lol been collecting em and building them since i was about 7 amt 3in 1 1940 ford still have it and tons more i would spend hours upon hours detailing the engine and chassis interior and body ill save em till im too old and decrepide to work on real cars they are a great way to get the kids into cars/trucks/hot rods also
I still buy them now and then and put them together... I just give then to my newphews and they break them but its fun..... I have a 1979 z28 model I am going to build soon.... I do them in the winter and only a few parts once in awhile... just something to mess with when I get bored I guess...
oh and I also gave some away to friends that race slot cars.... way cool to see them moving.
I had a late 80's camaro model that I loved. I killed it with some bottle rockets strapped to the roof one day. I think my dad still has it in the basement
BEEN A LONG TIME SINCE IVE HAD TIME TO MESS WITH THEM. I GUESS SINCE ABOUT 2003 WHEN I STARTED DRIVING TRUCK. TAKES YOUR LIFE AWAY.

have the 79 model also, on my basement tv still in the box. next to the 79 matchbox car, next to the poster of my 79....
I used to love building them. And then I would get some fire crackes and blow them up and make more out of the peices. Until there was nothing left of them. Good times
