Title: electric holley fuel pump ?????
Post by: BigFrank on September 17, 2011, 12:34:56 PM
i put a holley pump and regulator on my truck and when you shut off the truck there is still pressure on the line and pushes gas past the float and floods the engine over runs fine at wide open throttle but stumbles when i let off the throttle and wants to load up and stall    the gauge on the regulator is  at 3 psi     i dont know if the gauge is in acuratte or the wrong one ere what      ??? ???or   i was told to take the gauge off and plumb that back in to the suction line before the pump  ????????  i m pretty shure it isnt a carb issue as this one ran my bbc perfectly and was new then  ??? ??? ??? ??? ???  thanks for the help ==wgm

soo if i turn the mix screws closed it still  does it shouldnt it stop runnin if there closed  the carb was stock out of the box edelbrock  do i need a return line or not ????  either way i got a new holley sittin here was thinkin about swappin them and see if it still does it     and i know it should be around 6 psi for a carbed engine thats what makes me wonder whats going on since i turned it down and no change

return lines are usually for higher volume stock electric pumps, i have never ran one, and i have electric's on my car and truck (car has 2 pumps).

edelbrock says the screw's on the front should be adjusted individually and set at the highest rpm, i dont think they have anything to do with the gas running over?

i prefer a holley, i had a couple edelbrock's and the buuterfly's would rust seized. always had air cleaners on them also.
