Yes but your intake from the 82 will not bolt up to the 89 heads. The heads themselves will bolt to the block.

the heads will work on either block the intakes can go to either set of heads if you redrill the center bolts on both sides of the intake.. (not recomended) there are other differences in the heads as well, the later heads are cast thinner and more prone to cracking than the older heads in mose cases, the chamber sizes are likely to be different resulting in a potentially big difference in compression, and the intake runners are likely to be different sizes as well. also on the exhaust side of the heads the later center bolt heads used a slightly different bolt patter for the exhaust maniflods, primarily being the furthest back on hte passenger side and furthest foreward on the drivers side being a little further spread than the older heads and manifolds.. that's why a lot of the aftermarket heads has 2 bolts side by side on those ends.
