Title: antifreeze

i wanna drain my dd 's antifreeze... i m sure mine use dexcool or whatever color that is ... not green    but was wondering if i can use just antifreeze 50/50 after i drain?    to be exact  it s a 2003 ford F-150  w 5.4

read the jug a lot of it is ok to use now     it was not ok at first   but i think they changed it all now to be compatable   ?

i know most of them are interchangeable now, but some of th eolder stuff doesn't mix well....

i dont know abought the 5.4 but i know the 6.0 power stroke has to have a difrent kind... and i think dexcool is gm olny ???

Dexcool is only gm, and its pink/orange    use the yellow antifreeze, compatable with all types.

The diesels have a different kind to help prevent pitting in the outside of the colant jacket around the cylinders. I think the orangeish color stuff is what fords use, should beable to look it up on autozones website..

open the petcock. drain some water. pour anti-freeze in. get anti-freeze meter, $2-3 at the zone,, then adjust mixture to suit.
