When I did mine I googled wiring diagram for 87 chevy tbi (you put in your truck) and I found the gm service manual wiring diagrams, made it easy.
use relays for everything or you could have a fire!

seen several trucks burn to ground not having fuse s or relays @ very least put master kill switch
you are running a tbi motor? not sure on that, buf if its carbuerated you can come look at my race car. make a diagram of what i run, a master power switch, a toggle for the dist, and a push button start. up to you
ignition i believe would go from the battery, to the switch, to the +bat on the distributor, if its hei. if its not hei, then i dunno

i also run a one-wire alternator, double j can make yours the same way pretty cheap. less wires is better.

still need help!!!
when i push the botton for the starter it wont kick in, the starter works its brand new and i checked it with the jumpers and works fine,
i got the main big wire hooked up and i got the little wire hooked up they both have power goin to them to the starter, does the starter need a ground wire???
u need a ground somewhere .... not starter and the big shd be wire all way to push button and the small one shd be wired to push button as well on the other post.
i got my neg on my bat. for ground but i did everything what the digram shows on this link http://www.allstarperformance.com/downloads/instruction_sheets//ALL80157_Battery_Disconnect_For_Alternator.pdf (http://www.allstarperformance.com/downloads/instruction_sheets//ALL80157_Battery_Disconnect_For_Alternator.pdf) but i still dont have my altnator hooked up yet could that be the problem i cant see why that would stop the starter from letting the motor to roll over??
you need grounds from the frame to the body and body to motor and frame to motor...
ok ill do that tomorrow could that be why my starter not working??
or you might now know what your doin! loll
yes that is why the starter is not working.
got it working thanks better beater and everyone else!!!!
