I am going to buy my new truck some new shoes, first I spent 3 months looking at rusted out piles of crap on craigslist for outrageous amounts of money and now I search craigslist for some new tires and people want like $200 for 4 bald tires...wtf? Is everyone in Michigan smoking crack now days or what? Discount tire says $960 for 4 Goodyear Duratraks...hell no! Looks like I will be getting treadwrights $121 per tire for the old MTR knock off's with kedge grip.
Gotmudders beware...crack smokers everywhere! My favorite was the guy selling 4 MTR's for $500, 2 was less than 100 miles the other 2 was bald so 2 new tires for $500 not a bad deal huh ==roll
When we got new tires I sold our used Cooper ST's with over 50% tread for $150 they still covered the head on a quarter, these people are showing pics of tires for $200 $300 and even more with tread that barely comes up to the head on a penny ==roll
if you do any type of research on tires you will find rubber is up 20%. this is the truth the truck drivers are feeling it the worst. we just put 10 tries on my uncles tractor 6500 bucks. we put tires on his other truck 5800. times changes prices changes. can we do anything about it? no, will bitching and crying do anything no. suck it up and good luck on you hunt for new tires.
I KNOW how you feel on the whole tire thing right now man. Went threw that headache back when I had the suburban a few months back (which got stolen 2 months after buying tires). I wanted to slap most the people I went to see about "new used" tires off craigslist. After a month of that bull crap I started my hunt for brand new tires just to go even more insane. Discount Tire can suck it. They really need to change their name to Rip-Off tire and Sales. They are a " Discount" tire store yet have one of the HIGHEST set of prices I called on. Wal-Mart had the best prices, but there tires seem to always have defects just months after buying them. (surprise surprise). Those 3 weeks of trying to find good tires for a "fair" prices were total hell. Good luck to ya man!

Yeah I noticed this alot over the past 2 months, and not just tires!, Alot of peaple on craigslist want outragous money for shitt that isnt worth it. I guess when the economy is shittty, so are peoples prices.......
its not just the price, the value of the dollar is down, making it so you have to have more dollars to be able to afford the same stuff.
i agree with ya. things are getting like that all over the place. and it don't look like its going to get better eather ==dunno
I agree its a pain in the rear dealin with people on craigslist no matter what ur buying I ran into the same problem with the last 3 trucks I bought on craigslist I was getting so frustrated dealin with idiots
I too have been lookin for when i lift my truck. My favorite was 2 days ago i seen 4 35 inch mud grapplers and the guy wanted $650 firm and claimed they had 5/32 tread and suggested they be used for rollers. ==wtf ??? apparently i never got the memo that junk tires are now worth money. that being said, i have some old, bald, cracked, wont even hold air, 265/16's that i'll let go for $275 FIRM....... loll

I think I seen your ad on craigslist ==roll
Unless I have a set of matching tires with at least 50% tread left I usually dont try and sell them, I just toss them in the bonfire pile and burn them, however since rubber is made of gold now days I might list my old ones for $300 firm ==roll
Shoula PM'd me, coulda got ya a decent deal, probably some Kumo mohave's.. decent tires.

I am just going with the treadwrights $111 each or $121 with kedge grip, getting the old school MTR knock offs.

i defiantly here that. I forgot all about treadwright till i read this topic. i sure wish i would have remembered when i bought new shoes for the wife's burb. i got 265/16 vatavia's that was just shy of $700 and that was only for load C. i could have gotten load E with more aggressive tread for much less.
