Post by: afoxrider169 on November 22, 2011, 06:08:38 AM
Hi there I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem before I have a 95 Cherokee xj with the 4.0 and its leaking oil out of the head gasket and I was just wondering how much of a pain it is to do a head gasket on one of these

the i6 is an easy motor to do a head gasket on actually, if you're handy, i never had mine even after 400k miles leak oil, or coolant though, although i am sure there are cases, the head gasket is pretty straight forward not alot to remove to get to it either, good luck fixing it!

so...are you sure it's not the valve cover gasket?

Yeah I have checked the valve cover gasket and its not leaking and I cleaned the motor up and then found that the oil filter adapter o rings were bad and replaced them about a week ago and then noticed oil again and seen its coming from the head gasket
