this is going to be my permenant bogger ;D i put my 1 tons with 5.13's and 44" boggers..got alot of work to do..i need to move the spring mounts back since the lift spring i got were too long and pushed my shackles back to where they are horizontal right now! thats why the front tires are not center right now..then i need to get some coil springs for the rear to level it out
another pic

thats what my dad said too, but we measured the old springs and they were 45" eye to eye and the new ones are 51" eye to eye and they measured the same from center to eye..everything was good till we put wieght on the suspension..once we did that the rear shackles went from being vertical to being horizontal!

measure from eye to center pin. the wrap on the eye from what i can see goes down that should be the rear. just trying to help.
Ok, thank you! I hope your right! That would make for alot less work :)

Thanks!
Im hoping today to pick up some steel so i can start fabricating the rear suspension
That's inspiraling.
Thank you! It would look pretty sweet being pulled by your truck lol
That would be cool. Might need to one of these day's. Hopefully i can get more than 3 months out of my new trans. I'd like to hook up to something to see how she'd pull anyway.
I hope your trans holds up this time! No more BURN OUTS! Lol i'm sure it will pull great!
i have been thinking of a new name for my bogger and came up with "the hangover"..im not much of a drinker but this truck in the past has givin me plenty of headaces loll
Good name you got there and i need to go to a 3 speed so i can try some 4-wheel burm outs. That would be a sweet pic. Both trucks with smoke rollin off all 8 tires.
Thanks! Yes you do! I wouldnt burn off my tires tho
looks like i am going to try to build a 4 link set up

I just got some steel so i can make some more progress on it this weekend
Got alot done today! Frame is boxed in, rear axle debraked, coil buckets all welded in place..now i got to make the link mounts then it will be done :)
those heims should be able to hold up the the abuse! lol what kind of vehicle did the coils did ya ended up using come from?
I hope so lol..the springs came out of a 2006 f 350 truck and the price was right so i figured i would give them a try lol
1 ton springs might be a little stiff I know the half tons I put in my truck are really stiff, but then again my bogger doesn't weight as much as yours does so they might work good

what kind of metal did u use to box the frame in
3/16" plate steel
Got the dom tubing today and a piece of 3"x6" rectangular tubing to make an axle truss..i had to pay $72 for everything! I love padnos useables!

I am hoping to have it finished up this weekend

Thanks! And i didnt get anything done last weekend because i was sick
Got alot done today! Just need to weld in the front link mount to the frame, then i can put the tires on to check everthing out
i still need to make a crossmember between the front mount brackets, but other than that im pretty happy with it so far
it does need to come up a few inches in the rear to be level, but still looking good ;D

Hopefully, I will be making the trip to TGW but its going to be a late minute decision. The truck will be ready no matter what but my wife is due the 17th of may and if the doc says there is a chance that she might deliver early I won't risk heading 2 1/2 hours away but if it looks like she will go until her due date then the truck is getting loaded up onto a semi and we are headed out

I did..when i pulled out the engine i had one side of the front axle on the floor and the other had a bogger it..it flexed really well!
Bad a$$.,
I wish that i could take a voluntary lay off for a couple of weeks so i could finish it up lol
I got a 3 day weekend, so hopefully i will make some good progress!
sweet man!
I finally got the motor in today and got the motor plate mounts tacked into place
i may have to get some headers made?? the motor is set back a few inches now and not sure if my fenderwell headers are goin to work..i have to pull the brake booster, abs mod, and ecm then i might have an idea if they will fit..i got some uprights but really dont want to run them unless i have to
I got the coil spacers made and installed the rear shocks and limit straps..tomorrow i will bring it home so i can work on it during the week
made a little progress today with the hour that i had to work on it lol..pulled the abs, ecm, and throttle cable & cruise control off to make room for the headers..next is the brake booster and wire trimming
updated pics
leveled out the box and the rear suspension with coil spacers
It it comin to tgw?
I wish it was going!! Maybe the next one it will be done? Theres not alot to do, just a ton of little stuff

If it dont work, then i will redo it. Its my first time messing with a custom suspension and im tryn to learn as i go. May not be the best way but it's what i got lol..once we get our plasma cutter back working, i am going to clean up some of the excessive cuts with the torches my dad did..no complaints lol saved me some time
Went threw and got rid of all the unnecessary wires today. Looks alot better!

Was it a yoke or u joint or did it twist the driveshaft
It was the ears on the flange that bolts up to the tcase

Right! Its been atleast 5 years since i have been on the dunes and im ready to change that lol
anything new
Aired up the tires and removed some unnecessary interior today. Next friday gonna make room in our other barn so I can get it finished up for this year
Boggin or sand
Both. Need some cut 40" boggers eventually
Got some done to it yesterday and hoping for some more today
Good day today! Got radiator mounted, finshed coating the floors and put seats back in, and switched housing on my broken tcase.
Got tcase mounted, rear drive shaft in and my son helped with mounting the shifter this afternoon
Brakes are almost done. Then its off to have the headers modded to come out the fenders
looks awsome
came out looking good great job
Thanks! Getting closer everyday for now. But since I have vertigo its been hard for me to work which means no money for toys :(
Brakes seem to be good, got some brackets trimmed up with plasma cutter today and welded up some other ones. Need to get new transmission lines then the grill can go back on. Then its off the to get headers redone
Just found a good deal on an aeromotive fuel pump! Picking it up friday ;D
Got a few more things done last sunday. Hoping to have fuel system done and engine ready to fire this weekend!
Fuel system is 95% done. Gonna button up a few more things this weekend
Got the front end all finished up with the right pinion angle and shocks all mounted up. Gonna work on putting all the accessories on the motor and gettl it ready to fire up! Its getting really close to being done ;D
good job man keep up the work on it gonna be badass. need some new pics! ;D
Thanks! I need to get the internet hooked back up at my house to upload some pics. Maybe I could get a buddy to take and post some pics for me???
I'm on track to have it running and driving in a few days!
When you gunna get her muddy or are you staying sand?
It might be ready for parma??
Oops didn't realize parma is the 8th lol.that might be pushing it! Maybe the leslie bog on the 15th?
Yeah it will be close for me to buy maybe Leslie with any luck
Good luck and hope to see you there!
Yup you too
Thanks!
Its 95% wired as of today. Dumped alittle fuel down the carb and it fired right up! Still waiting for 2 an fittings to show up then the fuel system will be done. Should be moving on its own power this weekend
Fuel system is complete now! Picking up some parts tomorrow so hopefully I will drive it out of the barn this weekend
Finished wiring it up today after work. Should have it all wrapped up tomorrow besides some finish welding
What are you running for tires
Well my dad is going to let me use his if he's not using them. Other than that idk yet? I'm going to start saving up for some 40" boggers, hawgs, claws or some 16.5-16.1's
Well I have a minor set back..I got the wrong tcase clocking ring. Should have the new one wed/thur..found one gas leak. Hoping that is it!
That cross member looks good. Glad you can use it. Looks like it bolted right in.
Thanks! Might have to modify it to work with the clocking ring on tcase
Well got the crossmember all done, made front d shaft today but because of clocking ring I need to either go up one position or grind away on the drive shaft so it doesn't bind..once that's good just need to weld a few things and change the fluids
Ended up building a whole different shaft this morning..got it in and works great! Got to do a nice holeshot today too
Where's the video
Didnt get one lol..was a last minute decision lol..should have a vid of it soon

Hoping to do some test and tuning this weekend! I will get some vids this time
So far I'm on track to leave Thursday night with the bogger!
Had a great time at tgw with it! But now I'm thinking of switching out to 2.5 ton axles and some very aggressive tractor tires in the 50" range..
What does everyone think???
Sweet
Heck yeah
Well decided to stay with 1 tons for now...gonna cost to much cash to get everything done and really don't want to wait till end of next year to bog again lol...did find the frame broke on both sides of the front so gonna call it a year and fix that first then build the 4 link for the front. I also have to go look at a 434 short block to run next year!
Ive always wanted to stroke out to a 434. Big block power small block weight
Me too or at least a 421. But I can't pass up the deal I can get on this short block so hopefully everything looks good! Also thinking about running E85 next year too??
Its cheaper than torco, ya just go thru a ltlle more of it. If ur gonna be runnin that much compression with it that motor will rip!
Way cheaper! With my brodix heads I will be above 13.5-1! Debating if I want to go to a bigger solid roller cam too? Looking at a .682, .686 lift cam with rpm range of 4400-7800. Running a .624 lift cam now.
i thought e85 was only good to like 12.5 to 1? i know mitch loves it but i cant deal with the smell enough to try it lol

Wasn't able to work on it over the winter so im deciding if I want to just fix the front or rebuild it by 4 linking it?? Hope to find out this weekend after talking to a buddy about doing it for me.
For a dune truck its best to go 4 link. Takes more work but the ride and control is much better. Especially in the dunes

Dropped the block and crank off today. Polish the crank and install new cam bearings is all thats needed there. New bearings and rings then put it back together.
Picking up a new short block later today. 406 with eagle crank, rods, and srp dome pistons. All brand new balanced and ready to go.
