540's are either a custom made block or It can be made from a bored and stroked 440 :)

you use a 502 block nothing custom really just a longer stroke is all. 4.500 bore 4.250 stroke...

Can be short or tall deck
most are GM bowtie 502 blocks stroked to 540
nothing special
