Title: Magic Jack....
Post by: unleashed on February 06, 2012, 08:52:35 PM
Thinking about getting a majic jack. Just wondering if anyone uses it or knows someone who does. Sort of thinking if it's as great and cheap as they say~why isn't EVERYONE using it?  Would totally eliminate my phone bill, I mean, $19.95 a YEAR? Anyone know anything about it?

I see the new one doesn't have to be connected to the computer, thought it'd be wierd to have to have the computer ON all the time (mine's usually OFF) I have Hugh's Net......guess I should get ahold of them and see if it's fast enough. Thanks for the help.

nothing is long distance.    i pay one  time a yr. $20 that it. no other charges,  or like i just did   $99. for  5 yrs.

as far as  keeping your own #  i think you  can, but  i would  sak them to be sure.

keep your other phone  and try it for  30 days, if you don't like it  don't do it.

Yes, they do say you can keep your old #. I actually called Hugh's Net since they are my internet provider and asked if my service could support magic jack. The rep said it'll work, but they don't really reccomend it because it sort of sounds like a walkie talkie. My husband and I aren't really "phone people" anyway.....to save over $700 a year~do I CARE  if it sounds like a walkie talkie? ummm. NOPE. Gonna have to give this a try.

mine don't sound like a walkie talkie.  hughs  net  internet  is  not  fast enuff for majic jack. that why i went with sprints bradband card.   same money  and  i can drive down the  road with my laptop and have inter net where ever i go.

i feal like  BD on this one. the olney thing im missing  is  a  big  phone bill.
