to try and keep things as non specific as i can, i still gotta say wtf is wrong with supervisors? i know of a couple places where people that should be getting written up and dismissed are being pampered and rewarded for being ==censor workers, and to add insult to injury their recomendations for new hires are the ones getting the job openings, and guess what... they can't even show up for work when their supposed to, but do they so much as get scolded?? noooo they get an extra shift the following week to make up for teh lost hours and wages for the no call no show.... now is it just me or does this seem to be a bit ==censor backwards??

every since they introduced a 2 or more teared union system companies know they can run however they want....even the illegal mexicans now have a sense of entitlement and r getting lazy
that right there is a majority of the reason I no longer work at Discount tire, boss played favorites WAY to much. The place was getting filled with his son's buddys from school and they showed up when they felt like it and took weeks off work. Which I would get wrote up if i was 3 minutes late and if i asked for a week off they would have laughed in my face. I asked for one day off the year n 3 months I worked there and I got denied because his son decided the next day he wanted it off. Then they took one of the salesmen that lived around the corner from the store and moved him to the store across town just so the bosses little brother could come work at his store. The place was a joke.... but yeah, its not just you, this p00 goes on everywhere. Hard to find a good job that respects hard work these days. Its all about kiss ==kma 'ing

I see it a lot too. I am a supervisor and try to be as fair and consistant as possible...I have found it is amazing what people will do for you if you create a little accountability combined with flexibility where it matters.
it pisses me off when other supervisors arent consistant because I'll be writing people up, and other employees get away with doing the same thing because I'm not their supervisor. I'm trying to get that changed, but in the meantime I feel like ripping my hair out.

i agree i`m also a supervisor and try to be as fair as can be,it`s tough to draw the line between friend and work but when i`m at work the friend thing is second to gettin the job done!
I was told by a guy at work once that "you have to give head, to get ahead" sorry I would rather be at the bottom of the barrel and work my ass of down there than cradle the balls and twist at the top to get my way, and in all the jobs I have worked its always the same, you just have to adapt and do what u have to do to survive, unless its kiss as to stay alive in that case I will die instead
i hear yas i got 5 1/2 yrs in and got laidoff with 3guys havein less time in than me 1 a way better welder the other 2 not sure why 1 could be next the other a as$ kisser.
I had to draw a line in the sand and now I'm lookin for work too. I never shouldve went back after the 1st round of bs, but I lasted 5 days less than a year this time till it got to be too much buttkissin and snitchin. Them folks stomp all over each other to climb the corporate ladder only to discover there aint a blasted thing up there and then somebody comes and knocks them off of there too ==censor ==censor ==censor

Yup, nothin is anything like when I was younger.. Its all dog eat dog. Now that we give jobs and benefits to foreigners theres not enough to go around. People are gettin desperate and the companies/corporations can pick from the cream of the crop. Its hard for me to find work cuz of my age. I feel fine but they want kids they can pay half as much to.. The quality of products and services has gone way down overall, and most places wont stand behind their product or service anymore..

I am glad to hear this is all over the place not just on this side of the State..when I worked for Servicemaster the owner retired and his young brain dead son took over..I was a certified fire restoration technician crew chief...the owners son hired all his drunk buddies and then my crew consisted of every 18 year old slut in the area that would "do him" ..guess who got fired? he also hired a girl that was a swinger and the office girl was an embezzler! They will get what they deserve...they are going down hill now.. and I am all for seeing them suffer
