Title: Headers out the hood?

Well building my first bogger with a sbc with some work done to it. well for one i would like to know the pros and cons? and the best place to purchase them from?   also what exactly do they call them? upside down headers? lol

dec headers is where i got mine, have them special make the forward offset more forward.  i had to get rid of my booster cause they were still right next to my master cyl

thanks guys! im looking into maybe buying some from shoendfeld headers and i see they say with evac or standard? not to sure what to go with, and not exactly sure what they mean.  Also what size did you guys go with? tube diameter, collector Dia./lenght?    thanks again guys!

Diameter primary all depends on what size engine, how big the exhaust ports on the heads are, and a pro to the uprights are that you don't have to worry about sucking water into your engine if you are submerged in some water

PROS- pure awesomeness
CONS- hearing damage/permanent loss.

Uprights are sweet, mine are zoomies 2" with 3 1/2 collector had to loose the brk booster though.

           Pros.                         Cons.
       Sound.                       Loud to tune engine
       Loud.                         Harder to open hood when close cut
       Out of water
       Looks

love my uprights my fav part is not only do they look Cool and are loud but you get to hear the tink tink of the flappers at idel lol

The pros seem to out weigh the cons. Permanent hearing loss seems like a small price to pay to be awesome!

There is a con but only for some applicatioins, one problem is clearance issues with break booster, stearing parts and frame clearance but other than that uprights are pretty sweet

Just to be different, I ran my headers upside down and ran a short piece of exhaust pipe out between the headlight and wheel well. It sounds good and the exhaust sprays mud and water out to the sides when ur in the hole. I'm doing it again on the new build.

the mufflers were bought from either sumit or jegs and the

i would say so.. bc woody did say he uses them at silver lake.
