ok so i went to the scrap yard and bought an I beam, then i went to the steel shop and i bought some 1/8" & 1/4" plate. the 1/4" is diamond plate and the 1/8" is smooth.
I then cut all my pieces and i assembled it using a mig welder. my question is to those that know. I would like a few suggestions on hot to mount this so it dosent fall off when somebody is pulling me out of the mud. i dont have pics on this computer so i will upload them later. but so you have an idea, I cut the I beam to 31" to accomidate the frame ends. I then welded some 1/4" diamond plate in the shape of an upsidedown L so the bumper will rest on the frame and the sides of the L are on the outside of the frame. I would like to know if i just welded to the I beam and i stacked my welds will it hold up to some abuse. it seems strong like it is but im the type of guy that overkill still isnt good enough...
