I hate to tell you this but it's not the programer it's the tranny. it's getting old and starting to slip when under power. I had the edge juce with attitude on mine and it never caused a problem with the tranny. Now I've got the edge CTS with attitude and I can run it on level 5 and it doesn't cause it to go into limp. I run mine on level 3 all the time and it's fine.

I have heard bad things about the edge tuners being hard on transmissions as well. EFI live is the only way to go. We use it on our 2004 Duramax 1 ton. I really don't have to worry about my trans though cause I have the ZF 6 sod with a south bend twin disc.

I'm not saying I wouldn't recommend the juice because I've limped my trans, you can do that with any tuner. Just put your max tune in and hook up your biggest trailer and hold it to the floor, the 4 to 5 clutches just can't handle much over a  80hp tune.

I don't really care for the driveability in general of the edge, I guess after driving another 04 with a custon efi live tune, the trans shifts much faster, has power all the way through the rpm range.

I like the cts monitors because you can dump the juice, keep the screen and the gauges that are built in, and control your efi lives tunes from that monitor. No dsp 5 switch

I got the truck a year ago and it had 85,000 miles so I'm not really sure on its idle time.the cluster says 990 hours so I know that reset before, some of those trucks had that problem.

Agreed. Egr systems are bad news for diesels.  I just deleted mine a few months ago, and it looked as bad as yours. It was bone stock with 80k, '07 Dodge Cummins.
