Title: chevy axles

hi im a newbie here. i have a 81 3/4 ton chevy truck that the body  is shot. the axles are good, believe its a 14 bolt rear? front?. want to know if its possible to put them under my 86 chevy half ton? any help would be great. thx

front s probabaly a 10 bolt front    and yes u can se em under ur 86   direct bolt on

x2 just buy new u bolts and swap it over the rear drive shaft may have to do shortened or use the rear shaft out of the other truck if will work?

easy swap, check your gear ratios, if your lucky ya won't even have to swap the front axle just the hubs if both trucks have the same gear ratios... save your back a lil wear n tear!!

I would rather swap whole axles than hubs any day.

why?   if its got the same gears its the same axle just different bolt pattern...  seems easyer and cheaper to swap hubs over?

i wish that would be the case but the 1/2 ton has 3.08's and the 3/4 ton has 4.56's so im afraid ill have to do both:(

i just always seem to mess up something small every time i do a hub swap and ruins my day when we go out.
