Title: t-case drop
Post by: Blazin40s on March 10, 2012, 02:46:03 AM
After my shackle flip I have a vibration when I'm on the freeway coming from the driveshaft.  How far can I drop the tcase? I have 1inch spacers now.

ive seen people put up 3" spacers between the crossmember and frame...but then if you have a cv on your front shaft...might bind....i would drop enough to take away vibs from shaft....is it possible that the ujoint might be bad? seen vibration from bad ujoints a few times???

Just gotta watch the fan on the shroud, When you drop the transfer case, the front of the motor comes up. That is if your t-case is married.

Yeah, married 208, to a 700r4, to a 355 with ELEC fan only.  Front cv shaft, stock style rear, new 1 year ago.  No vibration on freeway on the way to the garage at my moms, hit 75mph or so on I75 on the way. To do the flip.  Vibration occoured after the flip.  I moved the axle back an inch and it helped with the angle a bit, and the 1.5* shim to point the pinion further down after the shackle flip helped also.  Where is the best place to get the sleeves for the drop??  Hardware store have em?

how exactly do you lower your tcase? is it just a think spacer that goes inbetween the crossmember and frame?

so does it just force it lower?
