put headers on , close the hood just enough to mark bottom the bottom side of it,  figure were the center of the header would be, and drill and hole.   From there you can a saw zall or a jig saw( with a steel blade and keep trimming until you can close the hood all the way....this is the only way i know how, hope this kinda helps lol

also if you havent purchased them yet my opinion spend the extra on schoenfeld not daves or dec headers my forward dump sbc headers were 10 dollars more and came with good gaskets and bolts and are much nicer quality

nicest way to do it...

install headers with the hood off, and run 2 strings from fender to fender, one string on front edge of headers and one on back. mark the string location on fenders with tape or a marker. do the same from front of vehicle to rear, marking your string locations. now remove headers, install hood, and replace strings in the same spot.  mark your holes and cut away. if you want round edges, start your corners with a hole saw and connect the holes with a cut-off wheel.

same trick works for air cleaners going through the hood, just intersect them at the wing nut.
