Than the Lawyers for Travon Martin attempt to have his records sealed so the public dont hear about Martin's disturbing past, which include being kicked out of school for possession of pot, tardiness, and striking a school bus driver.

My response is if you accept responsibility for your sons actions on that day, you will be able to get over it better. Just as Trayvon did 2 days earlier when he attacked a bus driver, he attacked Zimmerman forcing him to defend himself. That is what all the evidence will show, because it's the truth. I kinda of doubt the Martin family will apologize to Zimmerman for their sons felony attack against him that changed his life, but maybe they should.

I appreciate your point of view as it is the same as my brothers. We enjoyed a nice healthy debate over it as we watched my nephews baseball game yesterday. Of course you are right, it is never ok to kill anyone for the color of their skin or any other reason then self defense. Which is exactly what this was self defense.
There is no evidence that Zimmerman attacked Martin. I encourage you look at the eye witness testimony that proves Zimmerman was on the ground being beat.
The media put forth an image of this as a young child who got shot, but the truth is he was a drug dealing violent gang banger who was out of control.

Martins call sign on Twitter is @_no_limit-brotha (not exactly you can look up exactly what he calls himself), look at his posts and he was a foul young man. His friends are shown asking him for "plant" and through gang signs all around. Zimmerman was following him saying "he looked high." With all the evidence coming forward it was likely he was high. Especially considering he was on suspension for drugs and two days prior attacked a bus driver. I realize this still doesn't give anyone the right to shoot him, however Mr. Martin is not what the media has presented.
Most importantly, there is no evidence Zimmerman followed Martin after the 911 call. And even if he did that doesn't give the right for someone to felony assault you. People have the right to utilize neighborhood watch to protect their neighborhood. One might say that Trayvon Martin's of the world are exactly why neighborhood watches are needed.

Makes a lot of sense there...... he was doing his job, which would involve looking for trouble...... so your basically saying that if a cop pulled some one over and then that guy got out of his car and started beating the cop and the cop shot and killed him the cop should go to jail for murder when it was self defense..... oh but of course in your world the cop would go to jail since he was out "looking for trouble"
Unless you were there and witnessed it then know one really knows what happened that night and everything else is hearsay If it is found that was self defense, then so be it, if it isn't then so be it. Its up to the judicial system now.

This current event is an important part of the American fabric, and I think it is good we have a place to discuss it. I have an opinion, but I also realize that in this case there are a lot of valid points to the opposing opinion. Martin did think he was being followed, and I doubt I would feel comfortable if someone was following me. As a vanilla ice cream eating 45 year old edge of the country living suburbanite I might handle it differently then a troubled ghetto living 17 year old kid. Either side you are on, this is more complicated then right or wrong. A lot of what happened was situational. One person is dead and another if facing a life in prison sentence, and maybe worse living as public enemy for the rest of his life. I don't personally think Zimmerman committed a crime, but his initial perception of Martin was wrong, he was not committing any trouble at the time. Martin and Zimmerman both acted like the other was this major threat to each other, and the result is a horrible event.
I am glad to have a place to chat with guys about current events, lets not ruin it by making it personal.

FYI I read all posts before I comment on any thread, And as I recall no-one said that he shot him because he was black, some said his mom made it a black and white thing and the media did. there is no post with someone saying that. Also the media is portraying it as a hate crime or race crime. And I too am sick of hearing this on the news why cant the news report all of the story on any matter..... because they wont get the ratings. instead the twist it into there own perversion of the truth and gets half of the idiots in America to believe it. the best thing is that zimmerman's not even white hes mexican so hows that a black and white thing? About 3 weeks ago I Read that a mother in I think detroit killed her baby and thru it out in the garbage..... nothing on the news about that but a quick clip over and never heard again...... I dont think Zimmerman will get a fair trial because of all the media distortion, and the jury will have there mind made up, but hopefully when all the evidence that is shown to them, cuz we dont know it all, they can make a non biased decision. guitly or not

Stand your ground is seperate yet included in the Castle doctrine - the ability to "stand your ground"

When POTUS and Oprah the two most powerful black people on the planet come out against you, you are screwed. To top it off the Judge has opined in a 7 page hate document against George Zimmerman in the bail hearing that GZ was decptive and fraudulent with the court. Unfortunately for the Constitution and people who care for it, the judge has made this opinion while Mr. Zimmerman did nothing more then exercise his right to remain silent!!! GZ made zero statements at his bond hearing, but the judge wrote 7 pages how he interpreted GZ silence as being deceptive and raised his bond to a million. He wrote this opinion because GZ wife allegedly lied at the bond hearing. The judge opined that GZ should have told on his wife on the spot for lying under oath, thus stealing another Constitutional right away from him that one does not have to testify against a spouse. If GZ wife did lie under oath, then that has nothing to do with George. What will the gov't do next, place murder charges on MRS Zimmerman because her husband killed a man in self defense? Nothing would surprise me anymore. So far GZ is not getting a fail trial and I seriously doubt it will change. However, the gov't can steal all the rights away they want, but they cannot take his freedom without the jury, and I do not see a jury of 12 people convicted him of anything under these circumstances. To hell with the idiot rioters, all those idiots do is burn down their own crap hole neighborhoods anyway.

And Technically a bicycle is considered a vehicle... and law says you are supposed to obey the same traffic rules on a bike as in a car.....
