Title: neutral safety switch

any tips for removeing a neutral safety swith for a 93  cherokee ? without breaking it in half
or does anyone have a working one for sale

heard they break all the times .... not sure what s the trick is

yea i tried 2 of them today at the junk yard and broke both of them trying to get them off. there  only $1.50 a piece there but cant figure out how to remove them right

remove the nut that holds the flat rod in, and then there should be some cuts in the threads...these are what holds the rod in like a compression fitting,  very carefully use a small screw driver and pry them open a little.....then slide the rod out....then take the other bolt off that holds the switch on.... then unplug pigtail and there ya go...lol sounds easier than what it is

you could also cut the rod and just take out the bolt and then take it home and you can worry about the rest there where you have more room to work on it.


how do you keep breaking them?  Ive only had problems getting that freakin rod out and thats usually when I break them lol

look at second or 3rd post from the bottom of page,  theres a diagram showing what to do
