Just had a buddy rebuild my carb, and tune it in. Truck runs good but I was messin around a bit today and if I hit big bumps like curbs etc. It stalls out. Float wrong maybe? Didn't change anything on the carb like jets or squirters. But we did get the secondaries workin by changin the diaphram and puttin a weaker spring in. Its a holley vaccum secondary carb, with off road needles, and the cheeper one with no metering block for the rear.
wires all tight on dist and battery? good grounds? sounds like somethings losing connection...
Yeah all that's good as far as I know. Went thrh this b4 and my father in law fixed it for me. Was in the carb. But he's having health problems and unable to help me
what do you have for fuel pump? one thing that i do when set some body carb set the float level down little more then what you would for a car.
sounds like a holley problem. Its probably the float level. When you bounce around with holleys they are known to have a problem keeping fuel in the bowl.

yup gota run them a lil lower in a truck
Float level
i run a holley on my figure car, and sometimes the gas will still spill out of the vent tubes even if the floats are set right. i just extended my vent tubes on the carb with little pieces of hose and the problem is solved.

i used a piece of clear hose about an inch long, maybe 5/16" ID, superglued it on so it didnt fall into carb, than i made the hole a little smaller using some cone shaped plastic forced into the hose, like a bee trap, so air can easily get out but the fuel cant.
this works great, no more stumble/stalls
Gonna havta try that man.

i only used 1" of hose because of a short aircleaner also, would be easier with a taller element
Ok, yeah my air cleaners pretty tall
there is a lot stuff you can put in the carb to help is slosh tubs in vents. you wont have put the hose on the vent tubs.

Did it just push in? Assuming it was just the tube right?

yea it was just the tube. its a press fit tube and its a challenge to press something into a papered hole so it too some finnegling but i got it in and it works good for me. had no problems with it running up at silver lake
Stop hittin big bumps, problem solved. ==roll
The fuel sloshes outta the vent tubes and floods it, just extend them with some more hose like folks are sayin. If you lower your floats it might just make a different problem.. Us folks from out west know alot about this because of the steep long hills and mountains to climb, you REALLY dont wanna flood it out on one of them ;D
