Title: truck building advice
Post by: sdsmas1 on April 17, 2012, 02:45:26 AM
i picked up a 79 half ton ford with a 302 c6 205 combo. its got 38.5 hawgs on it with 3.55 gears. i really dont want to do anything to the engine as it seems to run decent. my first question is what gears do you guys think i should look for?  i was thinking 4.56. the end game is to transplant all running gear into a bronco 2. should that make a difference on my choice in gears?(weight difference) also thinking 351w down the road also. thanks.

just buy 208 tcacse or 1356 tcase that will give gearing that you need. its cheaper then buying gears.
