After my brand new carb got stolden. I am woundering if there's a way I can put a cable on my hood to make it open from the inside of my cab?
Throw some hood pins on their with some locks! loll
I've already thought of that. Lol . But I can't bring my self to drill holes in a rust free straight hood.
put a chain or cable on it that you feed down lock it around the frame.
I'm going to look tonight and see if I can do that.
take the latch and cable of a newer truck that has it should bolt on i think anyway
yep I did it on my 77 just go to the junk yard and pull one off a newer truck and swap it all out, gotta drill some holes to mount the handle in the cab.
my 78 had an internal latch when i got it...... sux about ur carb though

x2 internal hood latches were an option in the late 70's. However they use a different core support as the safety latch is set up different. A rare option for the most part.
You could always put on an 81-87 front clip.
just get the saftey latch and the cable n all that off of a truck that has it. Wouldnt be too hard to hook up.
or get rid of the whole set up and put a remote control popper lol
yea im going to see what i can do, and i want to keep my 73 front clip love the looks of the round headlights,

Core support is different. He'd have to find the whole core support from that year truck with the hood latch. The safety latches are mounted opposite.
should beable to find something at the junkyard that would work. Dont really have to be chevy.. I'm sure something has a catch and a cable that will work. S10's bolt to the outside of the core support, maybe try one of those

Yeah that's a better idea. Or a 88-98 truck.

you live in the hood? who steals carbs off mud trucks?
No I don't and the truck was out towards the country and couldn't be seen from the main road but if you go down the dirt road you can see it.
