ok most of you know what im running now but for the ones that doesnt. i have a stock 4.3 in the tracker and im running a holley 600 cfm carb with 64 jets. i dont think the secondaries are opening up right now but will be this week when i rebuilt it. so i am wondering if its going to be too much for the 4.3 after that. I found a holley 470 off road truck avenger I would like to get. so my ? is should i stick with the 600 or should i get the 470? also would it be worth it to switch to the 470 or not? thanks
Answered this one on fb loll, but ill give mt .02 here also loll. The 600s gonna be too much carb once u get those secondaries opening. Get the 470 avenger that's designed for V6s and I think you'll be happy as hell. But id call summit or holleys tech line and tell em what u do. But if u keep the 600 get u some offroad needles. Did it on mine last year and it helped tons.
thanks i cleaned this one out and its still running bad. runs good at 200 or higher but idles like crap. just needs to be cleaned out really good and new gaskets im sure. good enough till i get the money for that carb. thanks
I got a one barrel off a dodge straight six. Probably be the best carb out there for it lol
how high do you rev it? I think the 600 is a little much and the 470 would work better....
5200 is where i have the rev limiter set. yeah i plan to get the 470 when i get the extra cash. gonna rebuild the 600 and run it for now.
600 should work at 5200 lol but the secondarys open around 4500ish depending on the vac spring..
yeah right now i dont think they open the rubber gasket thats in there to control the lever is bad. gonna fix it and new gaskets and if it bogs out at high rpms i'll unhook that lever for the secondarys
well i found a few of the holley 470 carbs on ebay one is close to home trying to get that one but he wont email me back. if not there are a few more on ebay cheap and fairly new so i should be able to bolt it on and go i hope.
you should just buy kit for your 600 and run it. save your money.
i bought the holley truck avenger off road carb. its a 470 cfm. cant wait to get it on there and test it out.
well i got it on the motor and it runs like p00. idles good but when i give it gas it spits and sputters. anyone know why? floats are adj. idle fuel is adjusted. idk i give up.
accelerator pump cam is prolly too big... flooding it out
went thru all this with trent a few weeks ago loll

x2 thats what i was sayin cory
guess i'll take that out and put the one in the rebuild kit in there and see what happens
well looks like the power valve was bad plus it had 2 gaskets on it. now it seems to run a lot better just acts up at higher rpms gonna change the secondary spring and see if thats it.
