IIRC the cab mounts are in a different spot too, not 100%

Frames are ALMOST the same. I have an '86 cab on the red truck.

The difference is the front bumper horns, the 80s have removable bumper brackets while the 70s are formed on the end of the frame. Bumpers don't interchange.

The rear cab mounts are different, but all it is is a cross member height difference: Use the cab bushings that match the year of the frame.

Not all the box holes match up in the front, but 6 bolts is plenty. Or drill for the other two.

Some other little stuff is like how brake lines are mounted. 70's Mount steel-to-rubber on the frame itself (pain to try and replace it) while the 80s use a bracket so you can access both the steel line and hose.

Trans cross member might need holes drilled depending on trans/tcase application.

That's about it.
