Post by: Captn. J on May 17, 2012, 01:53:33 PM
i had a plumber come in and run me some water lines and he accidentally drilled into my bathroom elec line and knicked it   didnt cut it   , but the lights went out and i checked the breaker  they re fine and  since that  i couldnt get electric working in my bathroom     what went wrong , i thought it only will trip the breaker?   any other ideas?

When he knicked the wire it probably broke one of the wires.

if you know any electricians just havem fix it and shoot out a bill 100 over. Its a win win. LOL Might want to shut that breaker off just incase that wire is in there shorting out.
I know I've never blown a breaker here before and I've had enough draw in the kitchen to shut the tv off in the living room.

could of also just burnt out one leg on the breaker, ive done in before running a new power line for a heated tile floor, hit the switch wire, replaced the wire still had no power, ended up slapping a new breaker in it and it worked, might not be your case but its possible, and chances are if he knicked the wire, he broke it. i just ran a junction box and rewired where the break in the line was.
