where are people cutting weight to make there rigs lighter? i am gonna cut the bed floor out, cut the tires, shave any and all brackets off the truck i can find not in use, was just wondering what else guys are doing to lighten things up? bigger engine is not in the budget this year so i am looking for other methods to go faster in the mud lol.
this is a play bog truck so i dont have any rules to follow etc....
Take the whole body off, And just run a seat loll
you'd be surprised how much old dried up mud can weigh ==doh
skin everything! box skins and front fender skins anything in the cab you dont need shorten the truck will help too

Im usin my a/c condenser, evaporator, whatever for the transcooler but keepin the dash in it, theres alotta p00 up under there loll
I have no dash no heating nothing but bars and a shell! i am still gutting move everyday putting my cage in then anything not in use is gone.. only thing in my truck is a shifter, steering whee, seats and gauges
Gut the whole.interior u don't need it.
get rid of the glass, and heat. make a sheet metal visor. cut the inside of your doors out, use the outside handles. cut the top of the doors off also. ditch the wipers, radio, exhaust, mat off the floor, mirrors sun visors, spare tire...
that covers the body... what about axles etc? i already went disc breaks on the 14 bolt...... been thinking about pulling the hubs and turning them down in the lathe.... i removed the fuel tank and went to a fuel cell.... thinkin about ditching the core support and building a tube one....
14 bolt shave kit. Aluminum hubs front and rear. Aluminum rims.
Start running and eating healthy lol

Fill the tires with helium. ;D
funny guys! lol
anyone else?
kick the ole' lady outta the truck.. that's at least 100 lbs. ;D
Fiberglass... panels, all you can replace. it's gonna cost ya though.
and I agree w/ Trent.. dont sacrifice strength for weight.
What size tires you running? What gear ratio in axles? Are you running any type of ladder bars? Just like drag racing, getting good traction helps you go.faster!!
cut your tires you can shave alot of weight there and its less rotating mass
39.5 boggers 538 gears and i built an anti rap bar..... its got 8" 63" rear springs on it now.... would love to link it and coil over it but i am thinking thats a winter project
wow thats alot of gear for 39.5s! cut them they will bite better and be lighter win win! lol
You can shave like 50 lbs off each tire if ya cut then.
