Title: cooling ??s on a 94 blazer
Post by: scooterbob on June 13, 2012, 12:44:10 AM
opend the cap on the radiator and there was a chalk supstance all over the place??? not sure what it is??

cant see no circulation in the filler neck so certian the pump is bad as well... but the weird thing is when i  filled it it took a whole gallon... but the reserve was full almost to the top.

not really sure why there would be way full in the reserve and low in the radiator....

geting a new pump for sure in a few days ... any tricks to gettin that brown residu out? not sure whereit came from but a buddy had the same thing happen 3 or 4 weeks ago,, he had replace his rad

do a good flush on it a few times, that should get a bunch of it out,  but you might have to replace the rad.   It is very common for it to get like that when using well water, but it also can happen from running to much water and not enough antifreeze/glycol
