Title: tow mirror question
Post by: chevystudz7105 on June 28, 2012, 01:38:52 AM
does anyone know if a set of tow mirrors for an 07-2012 chevy truck will bolt up on an 03?  the spacing on the bolts appear to be the same as what is on my 03.  i found a set of tow mirrors exactly like what i want but they are for an 07 or newer and if they will work the guy is giving me a deal that would be hard to pass up for a set of new  oem tow mirros.  jsut not sure if everything would match up right and if the wiring is the same.

thanks for any help

if there power mirrors then the answer is a very big NO the 07 and up use a totaly different wiring they are controled by the BCM and the older ones weren't . sorry I'm sure that's not what you wanted to here but there it is.

they arent the power slide out you have ot manually slide them out but they have the led turn signal and are heated.  but that pretty much answers my question.   i figured the answer was going to be no on the wiring part.  thanks for the info tho.

New ones $180 direct bolt-on. No LEDs but heated and powered.

yea i did make a post lookin for a set  but i want ones with the led turn signal in them so the ones your have wont work.  im tryin to find an oem set  cuz from talking to alot of people htat have bought ones off ebay and some other sites  they all say  that the mirrors have a shake to them as your driving  but the ones that have the ones that came from the factory with those style mirrors  dont have a shake or anything to them.

Mine are fine. LED signal mirrors like that are going to cost you some coin. My truck isn't even wired for the turn signals in them, something for you to ponder.

the mirrors in my truck have the led turn signals  so im not worried there.   i just look at it as  when im paying for something  im going ot make sure i get exactly what i want  even if it does cost me a lil more.   other then being the smaller mirrors  the thing i hate about mine  is the auto darkening feature they have.   i think that is the dumbest thing  gm could have put into a mirror.  already had to replace the mirror once becuase the fluid between the mirror layers started leaking out.   luckily i found one in a junk yard for 40  rather then 600+ at the dealer  for just the damn mirror
