Title: proportioning valve
Post by: Kyle on July 09, 2012, 10:26:06 PM
im doin a disk conversion for my 14 bolt im gonna be putting in. should there be a certain valve i should be using to make even braking and make sure the rears get enough fluid or is the stock one in my 92 chevy gonna be enough? or should i just bypass the valve all together and just take lines right off the master cylinder?

is there any bias forwards or back if i run it straight off the cylinder? wil it affect it at all if im runnin 1 ton calipers up front and 3/4 ton onces out back. cuz i would like to still keep somewhat of a forward bias, ya know, for burnouts sake loll

Stock full-disc vehicles use calipers and pads that are smaller in the rear than the front, lke 30-50% smaller or so. This is what helps to give the brake bias in most full-disc vehicles.

Just replace the proportional valve with an adjustable one from Summit or Jegs.  Cheap and you can tune it to exactly what you want.

3/4 ton brakes are smaller thsn 1 ton brakes. Does that count? ==roll but i prolly will just buy an adjustable then to just be said and done
