i have a 96 zj with a 93 drivetrain,my jeep drives and shifts for a min or two through all gears, then the gears are all gone, i reset the computer by dissconneting the battery and reconnecting it .then it works all over again, i have a code scanner but it only works for 96 and older drivetrains, i am for sure its a cenor on the trainmission ,it started doing it while offroading at a offroad park hitting water alot if any one can help that would be great
if you were hitting alot of water, you might want to change the trans fluid as a start, because you might have water in the tranny and that can eat up the clutches. but now if that aint the problem start checking if there is a loose connection or a wire is not connected at all. but is almost sounding like you might have water in the tranny, because we had that happen on a 97 zj and it ate the clutch material.
