Title: any sbf mudders out there?
Post by: sdsmas1 on July 27, 2012, 07:47:36 PM
im currently running a 302 in my 79 half ton but i was given a 1990 351. im looking for ideas to swap it to carb. anyone got a good 351 combo that makes decent power? is there gonna be any problems using the newer block? im also thinking id like to keep the serp belt. good idea? thanks.

i got a 95 351 windsor converted to carb with a procomp ready to run distributor.i put gt40p heads on and a 498/498 272 duration comp cam.it runs like a mofo.my block requires an electric fuel pump its not cast in.i dont think my 90 block had a spot for a fuel pump either every thing else was the same.also gotta make sure its got the right flywheel for your trans

i think your 302 flywheel will work if its balanced the same.it will work if its not but could rob HP and cause other problerms i used a edelbrock performer.i have an extra if you need 1

if the flywheel came from a e40d it will work in a c6. i dont think the aod flywheel will work in a c6 i was told it was a different toothcount and thickness

i was wondering if i could do that. any special requirements or just a simple pulley swap?
