Title: Solid engine mounts
Post by: Jthomas on August 30, 2012, 07:48:12 PM
In know that once you go solid motor mounts, you have to go solid on the tranny and tcase. I already have my mounts made for tranny and case. But I CAN NOT FIND ONE TO FIT AN 88 BLAZER

Where can I find one?
Should I get a tall or short one?
I need the "pad" that bolts to the frame also

You can see the bushing actually fell out of the mount. But I don't want factory replacement. I need like a solid pad or something. I don't know the mount on the block can be used on another solid mount?

My racing mounts are awesome, got from wecrash.com. quarter inch steel, with leaf spring bushings. And...your other mounts can be rubber even if motor mounted solid. Can we make that a sticky? Comes up monthly!

Yea, cuz if your engine is solid, then ur tranny an tcase is pretty much solid too. Can't roll.

If u had solid tranny and rubber motor, then ur motor would roll and twist, breaking the tranny

I made my motor mounts, look in projects under budget boggers to see pic
I do not run solid tranny mount ever, I use poly mount. Had bad luck with solid tranny mounts
