Title: Annoyed
Post by: BAD APPLE on September 21, 2012, 06:13:21 PM
Does any one else besides my self get tired of seeing people start a project, get a lot done, then decide to sell it for the reasons of either needing money or deciding that they just don't want to do it or don't have the time to finish it then a couple weeks later start a completely new project just to do the same thing and try to sell it. Just to repeat the whole process again. maybe it's just me but my thoughts are just finish the first project no matter how long it takes and actually enjoy the fruits of your labors. Does anyone else fell the same or am I just an odd duck. And I'm not talking about any one specific on this web site as there are a few people I know away from this site that do the same p00

my jeep is a constant project..the more add to it the more I love it... I couldn't get rid of it because it is a reflection of me and my personality... maybe not everyone gets "attached" to their cars  like I do ;D

I'd rather build them, then sell them before they break :)

I sort of feel this way I enjoy the building part as much as the breaking part so I can understand why someone would sell a project to start another one I just can't make myself sell what I got.

the hardest rule to follow is dont take something apart until you are ready to upgrade. once a project is undrivable it loses its spark, and becomes work without immediate reward.  havent seen my car in 2 years, but since i have owned it over 13 years it isnt going anywhere. gives my buddies something to hassle me about anyway.

thats different tho at least you bogged it to see how it was working, and not selling to start back over with probably the same results, just dont understand on some build were they out source aftermarket parts that cost alot of money or send it to a custom offroad shop and spend huge amounts of green just to turn around and sell it for less than half of what you got into it, doesnt make sence to me

i know a few ppl that do that a lot, they get a hot rod get a few months into it and decide they want a different body style or a different year or model so they get rid of the first one, make an excuse for selling it and get another one, for some people i think that it's just that they cant handle finishing someting so they never do.....

i have alot of friends that do that. its because alot of people dont think about cost when there building things like boggers, trail rigs, dirt bikes etc. they see there buddies with a toy and they go "oh that looks fun" and get this big ideal in there head but never think about the fact it takes money. ive had a couple friends start boggers and they end up scraping the truck or selling it cause they run out of cash to finish it. Or ive seen them finish the thing just so they can sell it and get some of there money out of it just to pay bills.

Some people get tired of workin on the same thing especially if its a knuckle-buster like my truck is.. I almost sold it a couple times before I got it runnin.. I get pissed off because it seems like every single thing I set out to do on it turns into a major buncha p00 and somehow I manage to get injured in the process ==roll And also, like Bigdog says, p00 happens and the toy will be the 1st thing to go when ya need $$ ;D ==wgm

yea i feel the same way been seeing alot of boggers up for sale lately. im kinda in the same boat but not really. i bought a project and havnt even changed a thing. the only thing ive done is moved it 45 yards and set it on saw horses loll.  i really cant afford to build the bogger i wanted. i want to build a budget build so i can have fun and just not stare at a project and dream of what i want to do but know im not going to get to do it because i just dont bring in enough money right now.. i still plan on building a bogger but it will probably be in like 4-5 years i want to get my powerstroke paid off and money in the bank.

i think they get scared...spend all that time talking about how bad its gonna be and when they realize how much that would actually cost they decide to jump ship.  my favorite is they guys selling because they dont have the money and two week later buy another
