Title: where to get custom springs
Post by: hghrdnhck on September 24, 2012, 05:24:33 PM
I'm building a scout 800, the biggest lift they offer is 2 inches. I am looking for a place to get custom springs made. I will be running 39's, a dana 60 front, and 14 bolt ff rear. I'm guessing with the spring over lift I'll need probably 8 to 10 inches of lift. Pre 75' cj5 or cj6 springs are a direct bolt on, so if anyone knows where there's any CJ Springs that would help too

State spring in Lansing won't make lifted springs. We use ab spring out of grand rapids. They'll make any height spring you want for $200 each I believe.  Great quality, but there a bit stiff.

If want some REAL good leaf springs, call Alcan Spring.  They know their stuff.

Something you may want to keep in mind with the old Jeep springs is that they are real narrow and tend to get bent with just 33-35" tires.  Going big like you are... I would remake the mounts and go with a 2.5" wide spring.

Also, if you want to stick local to Michigan.  Give John R Spring a call.
