Title: Solid engine mounts
Post by: Jthomas on October 07, 2012, 01:40:14 AM
Some of you may know that I'm stuck on my project, due to the engine mounts.

Who has a BBC with solid mounts in a k5 or something similar? What brand? And how much? Like or dislike?

so if the measurements are the same as stock... then stock motor mounts wont work then either. unless your new mounts need to be rotated in a different dirrection. so therefor your oil pan is causing the problem so modify your crossmember or oil pan or make shims. or buy a oil pan that will work or motor mounts that will work with your oil pan. its not a blazer problem they are all about the same me and my buddys have had big blocks in blazers with no issues. measure the clearance from the oil pan mounting surface on the block to the bottom of the front of your oil pan then meausre a stock bbc oil pan at same spot and that will tell you how much you have to adjust too. my stock oil pan is about 4". from block to oil pan bottom at the front.

The oil pans are the same in front. I can't possibly fit a smaller oil pan. I have a 4.25 stroke.

Ask ur friend what mounts he has?
