Title: my truck just started in the driveway, by itself...
Post by: marshall on October 14, 2012, 03:42:13 AM
Never had a keyless start, and my truck just started in the driveway on its own. I walked out cautiously, (.45 in the counsel of truck) and nobody was in it? I live on a dead end road, and nobody around. Than the truck shut off, key was in off position the whole time. Headlights, wipers, radio, everything was on...

Better hope it dont disappear pretty soon. Sounds like some techy guy has activated the onstar/remote starter system by hackin in and could possibly be waitin for a good opportunity to drive away in it when he figures nobody is watchin real close. They can do that if its on payments too, get behind and they shut it off till the repo man gets there and then they turn it back on from the office. Idk how hard it is to bust the column in that one, but Im sure some of these modern car thieves know how to do it pretty easily, do that with it runnin and drive away.

My wife just got a recall notice for her 06 Trail Blazer that said they need to replace a part under the hood that "could" cause the car to start on its own.
But as always they sent the notice but said parts aren't available yet and they'll let contact us when they are.

Aunt's Durango did it. Aftermarket remote start they never knew it had. Moisture caused it to start the truck randomly.
