Title: Wars
Post by: lilred on October 24, 2012, 11:50:46 PM
Well this should be interesting.

Curious whats everyones opinions on the wars we have been in ehh lets narrow it down to the last 11 years?

What do you think about the last 2 presidents declaring war without the approval of congress?

How do you feel about the ones we are going to be in the next 4-8 years?

Imo any president since that has declared war, put sanctions in place or any other unapproved acts of aggression should be tried for war crimes. ==kk

personally I think we should pull our troops out, Bush wanted Bin Ladin dead for attacking us, he's dead yet we keep killing people, we've killed innocent civilians as well as aggressors, yet our government calls them terrorists, we went to war to avenge 2,977 people, the number of our troops killed versus the number of militants killed versus civilian casualties is just ridiculous, this is what I found from a quick look.

militants-54,405
Coalition-42,629
civilians-181,175

this is for Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan combined, 278,209 people killed to avenge 2,977 people, our politicians need to learn how to count something other than money. I don't think we should be over there any more, and by over there I meant all countries.

I have never believed in this fake war we are in right know.
Yes, I did want to kick Bidlondine or how ever you spell it.
But, did we really have to get into their christian war that had already
been going on for some time.
All we have done has equip them with more guns and better ones.

War is a tool to free up money for government...they just appropriate it then misappropriate  it right back into the pockets of special interests all the while leaving the tax payers on the hook cause no one can figure out where it went.

x2. I think they should make the government transparent. No "national secrets", no back room deals, no more bs.

The Cold War... Does not count as war, neither does grenada.
And that's a lot of " mis appropriated time " to inflate the statement.

If it does count, Uncle Sam owes me for my tour of duty!

If we pull out of Afgan they will just fall back to Taliban and we will be back.  I just wish we trained the afgan army to run the missions so our boys aren't the ones who get hurt and killed.  Cutting taxes and doing this war for over a decade was stupid, our boys are sacrificing so should we all including me.  If the country increased revenue and put it in the field, we would be more effective.  Let's face it we have won this war, seams like every week we get another terrorist.  But we need to have a long term presence because this is a war against good and evil and we cannot bomb our way out of it.  Plus afgan is a huge strategic position that is fairly easy to maintain, assuming we end operations and just maintain a base that is.  if we ever go to war with Iran, we will need a couple established bases in afgan.  Maintaining a strong military position is the first goal of our Constitution, or it should be anyway.

we have no business policing the rest of the world, our early leaders knew and realized that... why can't the new ones... we have problems because we stick our noses in places that they don't belong in the first place.. american troops on american soil period...
